Application

Posted by Christopher Freeman on 4/1/2019

In the spring of each school year the students' grade point averages are reviewed. The discipline file of each student is also reviewed. The students with a 3.75 GPA and no discipline issues are given a letter of invitation for consideration. Upon the letter/s return the students are handed an application.

The application requires various information including, but not limited to:

The students then return their applications and the applications are sent to a teacher committee for final review. The students then receive a letter of acceptance or decline depending on the committee's decision.

NOTE

*The NJHS application submitted becomes the property of Barwise Middle School  NJHS and will not be returned nor a copy given to the student after submission.

** A big part of NJHS is responsibility. One way students demonstrate this is that they fill out ALL sections of the application.

***Another way to prove responsibility is to ADHERE TO DEADLINES which are required during the paperwork process.

****The national office does not hear appeals or render decisions for selection or dismissal.  All appeals must be filed at the local level.

Obligations not met, withdrawal, or resignations of membership.

Posted by Christopher Freeman on 4/1/2019

When membership obligations are not met:

Students who have been unable to fulfill obligations of our NJHS Chapter are notified in writing that they are to be removed from membership.

Withdrawal from Barwise  NJHS:

If a student withdraws from Barwise Middle School their membership is withdrawn from the Barwise Chapter of NJHS, but may be transferred in accordance to other Chapters' rules of inclusion.

Resignation of Chapter Membership

Personal situations may change, and NJHS members could find themselves unable to fulfill the obligations of NJHS membership. In this situation, members have the option of tendering a letter of resignation instead of facing a disciplinary dismissal from the Barwise  Chapter.

*Members are urged to meet with the NJHS sponsor(s) if they feel their situation may warrant resignation from NJHS; sponsor(s) will work with members to find ways to remain members in good standing.

**Once a member is removed or resigns they are ineligible for membership in our chapter at a future date.

***The national office does not hear appeals or render decisions for selection or dismissal.  All appeals must be filed at the local level.

I was a member at my previous school…

If you moved into Barwise during the first semester of a school year and you are coming to us with a membership from another chapter you are welcome to bring the certificate or letter or acceptance to Mrs. Bristo or Mr. Marker. When the membership in good standing is verified we may transfer the membership to Barwise. Your compliance to all rules and expectations will be required and expected.
